It's been a couple months since I started this project and all of the little crumbs I'm sprinkling on the floor are slowly starting to form a cookie. I've completed 42 illustrations so far and I've assembled a to do list 32 items long, and it keeps getting longer.
When I started this project, I thought the freedom of an Oracle Deck would be easier than the structure of a Tarot deck, but I was wrong. Luckily, I've got a community to help me with the cards I may be missing from the set.
The cards I'm featuring today is The Bereaved.
-------------
Upright
A strong piece of yourself has gone missing. Whether through death or divorce, you feel abandoned and forgotten. Like you were never valued to begin with. Try to find new value in yourself.
Inverted
You have a new found freedom and you must take advantage of it. You have been released from bondage so stretch, explore, and celebrate.
------------
The image in this card was inspired by Victorian era post-mortem death photos. I like the image of a dead bride or widow who will be forever mourning the loss of someone, even after she herself is lost.
Please let me know what you think.
