Nick and Leslie, Nick and Leslie, talking holiday cheer. Hallmark movies, cozy nights, and a festive review today. Hey, grab a seat and a sweet treat, cozy up push play. Movie cheers, what you'll hear this Hallmark Movie Day.

Welcome back to another cold morning in Florida. And after you have just had your fills of a hallmark this weekend, you need a little break, a little halftime break. Did you know we live in a bungalow that's very shaky? That was good. Yeah, sorry. Yeah. Halftime break.

So what was it? The touchdown town? Holiday touchdown, a chief's love story. Yes, we are not football people. Yeah. So roll that halftime play for us.

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (01:04.238)
It's funny. Us not being football people means that every time a

horrible actor showed up. We're like, he must be a player. Honestly, or a coach or a line coach. I have no idea. Any of these people. Yeah. So I was happy he wasn't a football player and he was the director of engagement fan engagement, I'm very confused if he is a director. Then why why are three people each one is a liaison to a different finalist?

Right, so they all director of fan engagement and their person, their boss is their administrator of fan engagement. I'm not quite sure of the tiered level there. Anyway. Give us our plot. I thought we were just going to say. OK, so yes, it was a cute movie. Plot was we have super fans of the family and how they literally grew their family through the Chiefs game from meeting at the game.

had a Santa gave one of the fans, the grandfather, a Chiefs beanie back in like 1969. And then there's this belief that anytime they wear it on the Christmas game, someone within their family, that the Chiefs end up winning on Christmas day and winning the Super Bowl or something like that. And so this family has a daughter.

The family was proposed to at the game. So the point is they are just thriving in Chiefs. Excuse me, in Kansas City. They own one of the sets of grandparents owns a diner. The other set owns a Kansas Chiefs fan store or merchandise store. Actually, they owned a barbecue joint. I think the diner just happened to be in the background of a of shots. right. It was the barbecue. Thank you. and Nora's. Wait, no, wait, there was a movie.

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (03:23.213)
decades ago called Nick and Nora's Instagram Playlist. You're very close. You're Nona. So many Nonas. Anyway, think it's Nick. No, there's a Nick because it was N-I-C I thought. Anyway. Nick and Nora's. Nick and Nora make infinite barbecue as white people.

I can tell you white people did not come up with barbecue. So a little sad on that part that it was a white family that owned a barbecue place in Kansas I bet those white people came up with white barbecue sauce. It's just ranch with drama. Anyways. That was good. And so the family, the daughter of the family, the granddaughter of the family, because there's a single child, puts in for the fan of the year.

contest in there the final three between their whole family love story of the Chiefs and the whole Christmas hat There is a Chief's cat that dresses up that that cat has to be drugged We should probably should look that there was no harm done to any animals on this said his name was Patrick my homes whomever that is as well as a Not so decorated house for the Chiefs It was not exciting whatsoever go

We have so many more decorated houses than that anyway, so not that exciting. But the director of fan engagement, excuse me, or at least one of them, Derek Taylor. you remember his name. Yeah, DT. So this actor, just, I his name all of sudden. Taylor Hines. Yes. How do I remember that? Right, I remember. Probably because he's our second movie in three weeks that he's been in. I don't know, but he's grown on me. He, I think. He's got a sexy voice. Yes, so anyway, back to the plot.

So they meet this man, he's new in town. Apparently Kansas City is a small town, didn't seem so small to us really, when we were there. Can't wait to go back. And so we meet this man, he's at the barbecue place and like the grandma and the mother are just like smitten by him and they're like, our granddaughter daughter will love this man, we need to make them fall in love. So push comes to meet Q and they meet and then they're in.

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (05:40.269)
She is doing the granddaughter. What is her name? Casey K some Casey corner Alana Alana Casey's corner was the merchandise shop the Casey like I didn't know who was Casey that's Anyway, I thought it said Casey's corner like Casey with the K anyway, so she

She is getting ready to light the block where they're decorating all the small businesses up and down the block that they are in. And so he helps them decorate. They get to know each other, but he does not say where he works that he's the director of fan engagement, knowing that he's the finalist. Anyway, he learns about the hat superstition. They're like, it's not a superstition. So they tell him to leave. And then he has to come back because he was given their profile for the fan of the year.

So he had to go back and interview him and then so they're upset and he's like, I'm here to just do my job. They're like, you lied. But the father was very smart and was like, maybe he shouldn't be telling people where he works because he would get used because that is their golden rule. So you don't get used and abused even more so than in life throws at you. Anyway, let me take a sip of my coffee, take over.

Let me see some of my notes. Fan of the Year Award, Norma and Nick's an independent sexy voice. Norma and Nick, you had it right in front of you. I'm sorry. Seats, Christmas Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve gift. I didn't have a lot of notes. So one Christmas gift or Christmas. they thought, OK, so you asked about the plot. Yeah. So basically they go on cute little outings and dates and do things and start to fall in love with each other. And then.

she is invited to their, like the chief's holiday party. All the fans are, I mean, all the runner, the three runner ups are finalists. So I'm trying to say finalists go there and they, she gets to see the stadium all empty and everything like that. And so then they had, they shared kiss. Yes. And then they invite her.

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (07:56.257)
him to the Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve of Christmas party gathering since they work on Christmas or they're at a football game. they're watching the football game on Christmas. Yes. So the gift he brings that Derek brings is amazing. Yeah, they're the original stadium chairs that the grandparents started everything in.

season tickets. Yeah, before they have the new current stadium. It was like the small stadium and that grandmother is no longer with us. Yeah. Yeah. So she's passed. and he does not. his family's in Europe. So he's familyless. It was kind of weird that like this movie had recognizable film actors. Yes. So that was a thing. So that's the plot. They get together. Everything's happy. So

Now to our thoughts. gets stolen, but turns out Santa was just being a dick. Santa was being a dick. We still we're trying to figure out the actor who played Santa. Yeah, he's so familiar. It's like he's been in all the sitcoms at least once, it feels like. because there's so many sitcom actors and they're good sitcom actors that I think Taylor Hine had to step up his game for acting. And I think he really brought it very well. Yeah.

and he was challenged and so he's a good actor compared to like when he was with the three boys and a baby or a boy three men and a boy. Wiser men. Wiser men whatever he was I mean I understand what he was doing but you can see how he's evolved a lot. It's and he can fluctuate. So like I wanted to give this better score for acting but there's so many horrible football player acts.

That's the ring it all down. So my average is four For acting. Yeah But see how can you give it a four for acting? There wasn't so many there was definitely under ten Why don't I give it a six for writing? It's still pretty good. I liked the so I do think it is a must see I don't want to say it's I give it an eight out of ten if you're a football fan. It's a must see I'm sure but

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (10:11.245)
I liked that the Hallmark website was selling lots of Kansas City Chiefs merch. Yeah, same stuff that they're using in the movie. He could wear it and watch all. Yeah, I mean, it was I thought the acting was good. Take out the weird cameos of the football players. I didn't get it. And it took us a while to catch on. It's by the third one. We're like, what's happening? Who are these random people? We're like, they must be football players that were also like, why is the mascot a dog?

Yeah, so there must have been, know, clearly some like human rights violations when it came to their name. And they needed to change it to an animal. And it was with weird googly eyes that were just like the cheapest Chinse costume put together last minute. So if you're a real Kansas City chief, please let us know. Is this the new mascot? Who is this? Where's the budget for this mascot anyway?

I thought it was still a cute, it was a completely different theme. It was very watchable. Yes, it's a good way to put it. Okay, I take off the must see and it's very watchable. It kept our attention. I take it back to a 7.2 out of 10 actually. Okay. Yeah. It had good decorations. I give it writing a six, acting a four, directing a six. Ichabod is trying to fit between us. Chemistry-o-meter, I gave it a seven. I did like See, I think, yeah, just take out the...

take out those weird football players and I thought it was a good job. Yeah. Yeah. It's probably going to end up in my top third with scores like that. Top third is a is good. Yeah. Anyway, so Kansas City Chiefs love story. just wish I cared more about the Chiefs. I just yeah, we do enjoy Kansas City. We've been there one time. It was a great 36 hours and we can't wait to go back again. The barbecue is the barbecue I love. I don't like Texas barbecue. It makes me it makes me throw up.

But Kansas City Barbecue. that's good stuff. What was it? Joe's Kitchen that we were at? Joe's Gas Station Kitchen? gosh, so good. The burnt ends. yeah. Anyway. then in Boulevard Brewing, shout out to them. They're there too. Even though we don't drink a lot, but we like Boulevard. Yeah. Yeah. And it was just a cute little town. Anyway. year we'll do the Hallmark. What do they call it?

Chain Assembly (Nick Ribera) (12:35.054)
don't know. holiday experience? It's been like a tire month. We are clearly too new to Hallmark to really know what's going on. We gotta, we're rookies over here. Okay, Nick's been trying to say peace out for a minute. All right. Goodbye. See you in the next one.
